Porirua Union and Community Health Service (PUCHS) is a not-for-profit, low-cost health provider dedicated to offering affordable and accessible care to the local community. Serving the wider Porirua area, PUCHS has been delivering quality primary healthcare since 1990.

WOMEN'S HEALTH

Tailored health screenings and assessments that focus on the unique needs of women, including breast exams, cervical screening, and reproductive health, aimed at early detection and prevention.

RANGATAHI (YOUTH) HEALTH SERVICE

Youth-friendly healthcare tailored for the needs of young people. These services focus on physical, mental, and emotional well-being, offering support for sexual health, mental health and general medical care.

OUTREACH SERVICE

Offering support that provides accessible, community-based healthcare for individuals and whānau who may face barriers to traditional health services.

DIABETES CLINIC

Care focused on managing symptoms, preventing complications, and improving quality of life through medication, lifestyle changes, and regular monitoring.

RESPIRATORY CARE

Providing comprehensive care for individuals with a focus on early detection, education, and culturally responsive care to help our community breathe easier and stay well.

IMMUNISATIONS

We provide immunisation services to protect individuals from vaccine preventable diseases, promoting public health through safe and effective vaccination programs.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT TEAM

Offering practical, holistic support to help individuals and whānau navigate life’s challenges and improve wellbeing. Our team includes a Health Coach, Community Health Worker, Health Improvement Practitioner, and Cross-Cultural Worker, working alongside you to achieve your goals.

Mental health

Providing support services for individuals and whānau facing mental health challenges. Our team offers counselling, assessments, and tailored care plans to promote well-being and resilience.

CLINICAL PHARMACIST

Our pharmacist works closely with patients and healthcare teams to review medications, optimise therapy, and provide education and advice on proper use.

OTHER SERVICES

Practice Plus

With Practice Plus, you’re only a few clicks away from a same day afterhours virtual GP consultation that suits you. We help to connect you with trusted medical care quickly, as an after-hours extension to your regular medical centre team and GP.

Practice Plus is available Monday to Friday: 8.30am to 5.00pm.
Closed Public & Stat Holidays.
