Mental Health Services

Porirua Union & Community Health Service (PUCHS) offers comprehensive mental health services to individuals across the wider Porirua area, including Johnsonville and Paremata.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES OFFERED:
Individual Counselling: PUCHS offers one-on-one counselling sessions to address a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. These sessions are conducted by qualified mental health professionals who provide personalised care tailored to each individual's needs.

Referrals and Collaborations: PUCHS work alongside other mental health services and specialists to provide comprehensive care. Referrals can be made to external services when specialised care is required.

ACCESSING SERVICES:
To access mental health services at PUCHS, individuals can contact the clinic directly to schedule an appointment. While referrals are not mandatory, they can be made by general practitioners (GPs) or other healthcare providers. PUCHS operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

For after-hours support, individuals can contact Healthline at 0800 611 116 or dial 111 in case of an emergency.

Offering practical, holistic support to help individuals and whānau navigate life’s challenges and improve wellbeing. Our team includes a Health Coach, Community Health Worker, Health Improvement Practitioner, and Cross-Cultural Worker, working alongside you to achieve your goals.

Clinical Pharmacist

Our pharmacist works closely with patients and healthcare teams to review medications, optimise therapy, and provide education and advice on proper use.
